Mykal Roze

This gifted vocalist born and grown in Waterhouse started his career singing standards in Jamaican Hotels; his first works were for Niney Observer and Jammy's before becoming the lead vocalist of legendary group Black Uhuru from 1977 to 1985 with Sly & Robbie as riddim section. With songs like "Shine eye girl", "General Penitentiary" "Sensimilla" or "Guess who's coming for dinner" Michael distinctive voice soon became famous around the globe and he ended up receiving a Grammy Award short before leaving Black Uhuru. He started a solo carreer in 1989 scoring hits for the best producers in Jamaica and foreign countries. After several solo Lps Michael is still recording and touring strong nowadays. Heartical Sound met him several times since our first encounter in 1999, at last in 2004 we started recording new tunes from Michael Roze for the Heartical Label, watch it this "Grammy Kid" is a now also a Heartical recording artist!
